Job summary

A school maintenance department is looking for a Carpenter/Locksmith to perform repair and maintenance tasks on locks and doors. The ideal candidate will need experience in locksmithing and carpentry, as well as a valid Locksmith License issued by NC. This full-time position requires on-call availability and offers a variety of responsibilities, from installing locks to conducting repairs. Candidates should demonstrate effective problem-solving skills and be able to work independently in a school environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school required.
• Considerable experience in locksmithing is preferred.
• Must possess a Locksmith License issued by NC Locksmith Licensing Board.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of locks and doors.
• Install and repair door hardware and systems.
• Work under general supervision on various tasks.
• Follow oral and written work orders.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe condition.

Skills

Knowledge of carpentry methods

Knowledge of locks and security systems

Ability to use hand and power tools
