Job summary

Berkeley School District #87 is seeking a Cafeteria Aide Substitute to support daily meal operations for the district. The role is on-call during the school year, with duties including food preparation, cashiering, and maintaining kitchen and service areas in accordance with health codes.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, experience with food preparation, and basic computer skills. Reports to the Food Service Director/Supervisor/Head Cook.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, experience with food preparation, and basic understanding and use of computers

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing all food for the daily meal program
• Pack lunch bags for the elementary schools and distribute using portable ovens
• Order and store ice cream, milk, napkins, straws etc.
• Daily enter all prepayments on the computer and make additional daily entries as necessary
• Cashier during all meal periods on a daily basis
• Refill condiments and clean condiment area between meal periods
• Oversee use and cleaning of ovens and burners
• Assist with the unpacking and storing of all supplies
