Job summary

CPCD seeks an On Call School Bus Driver to transport children to and from school and activities. The role begins October 19th and is an on-call position. You will support the classroom team during in-between times, and ensure safety and timely operations on each trip.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, logs, and maintaining a positive learning environment on the bus. Training occurs annually in the fall.

Qualifications

• Must obtain CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements within two months if not currently held.
• Reliably meets Motor Vehicle Report standards prior to employment.
• Able to lift/carry at least 50 pounds.
• First Aid and CPR certifications within 90 days of employment.
• Pre-employment physical, TB test, drug test (including marijuana) and background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections.
• Drive CPCD buses to transport children.
• Provide directions for safe behavior to students.
• Maintain student discipline and manage behavior on the bus.
• Complete seating charts, logs, and monthly reports; maintain records.
• Promote parent involvement and assist classroom team as needed.
