Job summary

SUNNYSIDE SCHOOL DIST 201 Transportation in Sunnyside, Washington seeks a Substitute Bus Assistant to support safe student transport and assist passengers with riding and entering/exiting buses. This on-call/as-needed role requires flexibility and reliable attendance.

Must be 21+ and have a high school diploma or GED; CPR/First Aid preferred or willing to obtain; successful background checks required. Earn $20.01 per hour with Washington state sick leave benefits and on-the-job training

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist bus driver to handle emergencies until the driver takes over.
• Assist students with loading/unloading for safe transportation.
• Monitor students with special needs to ensure safety on/off the bus.
• Prepare basic incident and seating reports for documentation.
• Report observations or incidents to appropriate staff.
• Secure students and equipment (seat belts, ramps) as needed.
