Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a Safety Specialist to lead safety programs and ensure compliance with Company, Federal, State, and local regulations. The role covers training, driver evaluations, accident reviews, and 24/7 on-call support.

Responsibilities include administering drug and BAT tests, counseling drivers on violations, and conducting road tests to ensure policy and DOT compliance; pre-trip inspections are also part of duties.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
• Experience with training, evaluations, and accident reviews.
• Public speaking or adult education experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all Safety Department training courses, including simulator training.
• Perform safety functions such as accident reviews and annual/remedial training.
• Administer drug and Breath Alcohol Tests (BAT).
• Provide 24-hour on-call support as needed.
• Counsel drivers on DOT and company policy violations.
• Conduct road tests and driver evaluations for compliance.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and related duties.
