Job summary

St. Croix Hospice in Illinois seeks a Registered Nurse On-Call to deliver skilled, compassionate care during evenings, nights and weekends within our 24/7 model. The 7 days on / 7 days off overnight schedule offers autonomy and meaningful patient impact.

Ideal candidate holds an RN license, with acute care experience and a passion for hospice support, education, and family guidance.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with appropriate state RN license.
• 1+ years of acute care experience, hospice or home care preferred.
• Current RN license and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to triage calls and provide after-hours nursing visits for symptom management and admissions.
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on evolving needs.
• Administer medications and treatments and educate patients and caregivers.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation of care and outcomes.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse On-Call Requirements & Responsibilities:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters)
• 1+ years of recent acute care experience required - hospice or home care
• Current RN license in state of practice and CPR certification
• Respond to triage calls and provide after-hours nursing visits for symptom management, admissions, and care plan updates
• Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on evolving needs
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, offering education and support to patients and caregivers
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation of care, outcomes and communication
• Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and proof of auto insurance

• Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off Monday-Thursday 5:00pm–8:00am and Friday 5 pm-Monday 8 AM

The starting salary range for this role is $85,000-$97,000 annual base salary. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: geographic location, relevant education, applicable certifications, depth of experience, and special skillsets. The total compensation package for this position may also include the opportunity to participate in employee benefits including our medical/dental/vision/pet insurance, disability and life insurance, paid time off, and 401(k) retirement plans, subject to applicable plan terms, and/or eligibility for other compensation.
