Job summary

Gates Hudson is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform both preventive and corrective maintenance across a residential portfolio in the Richmond, VA area. You will work on heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical and carpentry tasks, ensuring safety and compliance with applicable laws.

The role involves responding to service requests, managing parts inventories, and supporting other technicians as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in residential property management.
CFC Type 2 or Universal certification preferred.
Ability to perform plumbing, electrical and HVAC repairs, as well as carpentry and related tasks.
Must be available for on-call emergency service and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on property equipment, fixtures, buildings and residences.
Conduct routine maintenance and repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC and related systems.
Manage inventory of frequently used parts and tools; maintain stock rooms and workshops.
Complete service requests promptly and communicate status to residents and supervisors.
Provide assistance to other technicians and train newer staff as directed.
Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA, ADA, Fair Housing and related regulations.
