Job summary

LifeSTEPS seeks a Director of Social Services (On-Call) for San Jose, CA. The role involves designing, implementing, and coordinating social service activities within assigned affordable housing communities under the supervision of the Regional Director of Social Services.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field, plus two years of relevant experience; a valid CA driver's license and insured transportation are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in a similar environment providing social services.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Valid California Driving License and reliable, insured transportation required.

  • Empower low-income residents by providing education and resources.
  • Coordinate social service activities within assigned affordable housing communities.
  • Provide client assistance, case management, service coordination, and community outreach.
  • Support older adults to thrive in place through housing and services.

The DSS is responsible for the following duties necessary to successfully support the residents served by LifeSTEPS.Core Duties Director of Social ServicesEmpower low-income individuals and families to flourish by providing education and resources.Ensure our residents, specifically older adults to have an opportunity to thrive in place through housing and services.Encourage individuals and families through stable housing and supportive evidence-based services to build resilient communities.Maximize the strengths of individuals by providing client assistance, case management, service coordination, and conducting community outreach.Education and/or Experience and/or License Certification:Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field.Two (2) years of experience in a similar environment providing social services.An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the degree.Valid California Driving License and reliable, insured transportation required.Are you ready to make a difference, stand behind and support individuals and families so they achieve their goals and become empowered to move forward in their lives?
