Job summary

Washington State Department of Corrections seeks a Registered Nurse 2 On-Call (RN2) for Clallam Bay Corrections Center in Clallam Bay, WA. On-call staff must be available for day, swing, and graveyard shifts, including weekends and holidays, with a minimum commitment of 10 shifts per month.

RNs provide health care to incarcerated individuals, perform screenings, assessments, and referrals, and coordinate care with the health team. A six-week core training may be required.

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in Washington State.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing services promoting health and healing for incarcerated individuals.
• Screen, assess, and evaluate health conditions and care needs.
• Respond to requests for health care attention in a timely, clinically appropriate manner.
• Delegate and supervise nursing work and coordinate care.
• Plan transitions and arrange referrals when patients transfer or return to the community.
• Educate and counsel patients to improve health outcomes.
