Job summary

The Department of Corrections (DOC) is recruiting registered nurses for the Clallam Bay Corrections Center in Clallam Bay, WA. Positions include RN1 in-training and RN2 with a pathway to advancement.

Evening and night shift differentials apply, and employment offers a comprehensive benefits package. Requirements include WA RN licensure (or compact license with required trainings), CPR certification, and strong computer skills for health records.

Qualifications

• Unencumbered RN license in Washington state.
• Active multistate license per NLC with required trainings.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• CPR training per American Heart Association.
• Proficient computer skills for scheduling, monitoring, and documentation.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Desirable: experience in acute care or correctional settings.
• Desirable: Certification as a Correctional Healthcare Professional.

Responsibilities

• Practice nursing safely and effectively in the correctional setting.
• Assess patient data, develop diagnoses and outcomes.
• Plan delivery of health care with timeframes and pathways.
• Provide direct patient care and supervise others.
• Document nursing care plans and medical records.
• Respond to emergencies with CPR and triage as needed.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
