Job summary

The City of Easthampton is seeking an On-Call Public Safety Dispatcher to receive, assess, and dispatch police, fire, and EMS units for the City of Easthampton and Town of Southampton. You will perform clerical and technical duties, maintain records, and help implement dispatch procedures in a 24/7 operation.

Candidates need a high school diploma or equivalent and strong communication, computer, multitasking, and high-stress skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required plus strong communication, computer, multitasking, and high-stress skills.
• LEAPS/NCIC certification preferred.
• Emergency Medical Dispatch certification preferred.
• Enhanced 911 certification preferred.
• APCO Basic Telecommunication certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive, assess, and dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical response units.
• Perform clerical, administrative, and technical duties related to dispatch and records.
• Maintain accurate and official records for the Dispatch Center.
• Support 24/7 operations and adhere to standard operating procedures.
