Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist in good standing with state board
• Minimum of 1 year as practicing pharmacist
• Retail/community pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of pharmacy law, insurance, and prescription processing
• Tech-proficient and quick learner of new systems
• Flexible to schedule changes and weekend availability
• Good communication, problem-solving and leadership abilities
• Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and patient safety
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs
• Able to work independently across different locations

Responsibilities

• Verify prescriptions for accuracy, drug interactions, and patient safety
• Review patient profiles for completeness, DUR, and red flags
• Provide patient consultations and counseling with clarity and compassion
• Ensure compliance with Alabama Board of Pharmacy laws and other state regulations
• Collaborate with technicians and data entry
• Maintain pharmacy security and safeguard medications and records
• Support workflow planning, reporting, and performance monitoring
• Respond promptly to patient calls and inquiries
• Assist in staff training and performance recognition
• Contribute to pharmacy flow by helping with data entry or insurance resolution
