Pharmacist

Position: ON CALL Pharmacist in the Student Health & Counseling (SHAC) Pharmacy, Albuquerque, NM.

Job Summary: Provide pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners. Responsibilities include receiving, compounding, and filling prescriptions; dispensing pharmaceuticals; consulting clients on drug use; training and supervising personnel; performing routine quality‑control testing; and preparing and maintaining all records required by federal, state, and local regulations.

Location

Student Health & Counseling Center, central campus. The center offers comprehensive primary and mental health services, laboratory, X‑ray, physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, case management, health promotion, same‑day appointments, travel medicine, immunizations, and sports medicine.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver pharmacy services to patients and medical practitioners.
  • Receive, compound, fill, and dispense prescriptions.

  • Perform routine quality‑control testing procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain records per federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D.; and State of New Mexico Licensed Pharmacist.
  • At least 6 months of direct experience related to the duties and responsibilities.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution exceeding the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Conditions of Employment
  • May require discipline‑specific licensure and/or professional certification as specified by the department.
  • Must pass a pre‑employment criminal background check.
  • May be subject to credentialing; must maintain credentialed status, if applicable.
  • Must maintain certification status.
  • Employees working in patient care or clinical areas must comply with the University’s influenza vaccination requirement.
