Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduated from a nationally accredited surgical technology program.
• Must hold NBSTSA CST credential and NYS registration.
• Ability to work on call, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Implements age-specific care plans and relays shift-change reports.
• Prepares OR by setting up room, connecting equipment, and ensuring supplies.
• Maintains sterile field and aseptic technique; documents accordingly.
• Adheres to aseptic practices and handles instrument processing.
• Maintains environmental controls and waste disposal precautions.
• Performs sponge, sharps, and instrument counts with RN.
• Ensures safe equipment use; assists second surgeon; secures instruments.
• Assists surgeon with labeling specimens and skin prep.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
