Job summary

San Jose Behavioral Health is seeking a patient transport specialist to safely move visitors and staff to appointments, admissions, and other events in the San Jose area. You will ensure seatbelts are fastened, maintain logs, and keep vehicles clean while providing empathetic and professional service.

Responsibilities include on-call availability, completing transport documentation, and coordinating with facility staff to meet patient needs while prioritizing safety and compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid state driver’s license is required.
• Certification in CPR and de-escalation/restraint is required.
• First aid certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up or transports visitors or staff as needed.
• Transport patients for admissions and discharges.
• Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts before the vehicle is started.
• Drive company vehicle to pick up supplies or equipment as needed.
• Respond to on-call schedule as required.
• Accurately complete transportation documentation.
• Maintain vehicle logs and report maintenance issues.
• Keep company vehicles clean and functional.
• Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers; prioritize patient safety.
