Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County, within the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure, seeks a Compliance Inspector 2 to monitor and enforce parking ordinances across meters, loading zones, and sidewalk vending, while ensuring regulatory compliance for taxicabs, limousines, wreckers and transportainment vehicles.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and two years of responsible inspection, investigative, or compliance experience.
• More education may be considered for some experience.
• Valid Driver License.
• Work schedules may be morning, afternoon or evening; weekends and holidays possible.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and enforces parking ordinances including meters, loading zones, valet zones, sidewalk vending zones, no parking zones, and residential parking.
• Ensures regulatory compliance with taxicabs, limousines, wreckers and transportainment vehicles.
• Enforces Metro’s ordinance on sidewalk vending.
• Keeps accurate records and prepares detailed reports.
• Provides interpretations of policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Provides testimony and evidence in traffic & environmental court in support of citations issued.
• Refers non-compliance cases to appropriate authority as necessary.
• Keeps abreast of changes in services, delivery procedures and regulatory rules.
• Prepares and presents reports for the Division Manager, Traffic and Parking Commission, and Council.
