Job summary

PACE is seeking a reliable Substitute Bus Driver for on-call transportation in Milford, Delaware. The role supports the PACE Your LIFE program by ensuring safe, dependable para-transit services across all routes and destinations and coordinating with the Transportation Coordinator to cover scheduled and unscheduled needs.

Qualified candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in a transportation-related field, and a CDL or ability to obtain one within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of transportation experience, para-transit or public transit preferred.
• CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to work flexible on-call shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lift and assist passengers as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and reliable transportation for participants via para-transit bus.
• Support scheduled and unscheduled coverage needs, ensuring continuity of service.
• Maintain records and reports of transportation activities and incidents.
• Collaborate with the Transportation Coordinator to address transportation-related needs and concerns.
• Maintain a professional and patient-centered demeanor.
