Pure Paws Veterinary Care — Hudson Square seeks an On-Call Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide skilled care to our patients and exceptional service to clients. The ideal candidate has experience in animal care, client communication, and veterinary procedures, with a passion for improving the lives of pets and their owners.

Expect flexible shifts with Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Friday options.

Qualifications

• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and hospital safety guidelines.
• Knowledgeable about common disease states and alert veterinarians to changes in patient conditions.
• Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) certification in New York State is required.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians with patient care, exams, surgery, anesthesia, and recovery.
• Safely handle and restrain animals with compassion.
• Communicate clearly with clients, including care instructions and status updates
• Perform technical duties such as lab work, radiographs, injections, and IV catheter placement.
• Maintain accurate medical records and assist with medication dispensing.
• Help keep exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment clean, stocked, and ready.
• Follow hospital, safety, and regulatory guidelines at all times.

Overnight Licensed Veterinary Tech - On Call

Salary: $40- $44 per hour, based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.

On-Call Schedule: Flexible weekday options, with shifts available either Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Friday.

Overnight coverage offers similar flexibility, with on-call shifts available Monday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Friday (or Monday–Friday if preferred). If called in, overnight shifts run from 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. You will only be contacted if coverage is needed, and a $50 on-call stipend will be provided for nights when you are not called in.
