Job summary

Summerville Medical Center is seeking an OR RN on-call (PRN) to join our surgical team. The role involves providing professional perioperative nursing care, collaborating with surgeons and staff, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.

Qualified candidates will have an ASN or higher, an active RN license in South Carolina, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of perioperative experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program; ASN or higher required.
• Active RN license in the practicing state.
• Current BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification required.
• Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional surgical nursing care using the nursing process.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgical technologists and nurses for quality care.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families throughout perioperative care.
• Organize supplies and maintain a sterile operating environment.
• Perform counts and ensure correct site, side and level of procedure.
• Monitor patient status intra- and post-operatively and manage fluids/electrolytes.
• Administer medications as ordered and involve patient in post-op decisions.
