Job summary

Texas NeuroRehab Center, a long-standing rehabilitation facility near downtown Austin, seeks a PRN Nurse Practitioner to work on-call with the treatment team. You will provide medical management, patient assessments, and crisis oversight, contributing to a therapeutic milieu for teens and adults.

You will document care, coordinate with staff and families, and help educate the team. Must be Texas-licensed APRN with experience in psychiatric and medical rehab settings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of substance abuse and psychiatric patient services.
• Professional verbal and written skills needed for communicating the patient status and treatment needs.
• Ability to maintain professional records and confidentiality and to maintain professional relationships.
• Knowledge of Special Treatment Procedures and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.

Responsibilities

• Obtain medical history on new admissions or authenticate previous medical history within 48 hours.
• Perform physical examinations on new admission or authenticate previous physical examination within 48 hours.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat illness and injuries occurring in patient population.
