Job summary

Hickam Communities in Honolulu, HI is seeking a Special Projects Technician to respond to after-hours repairs and perform a range of maintenance tasks across rental units, offices, and common areas.

You will handle light construction, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repairs, prioritizing safety and quality. A high school diploma or GED and 1–3 years of related experience are required, with driving license and strong English communication expected.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; vocational or technical training preferred.
• Minimum 1-3 years maintenance, carpentry, recon work, or specialized trade experience.
• Able to read, write, understand and speak English.
• Must have a current vehicle license in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and complete after-hours emergency and urgent repairs.
• Perform light construction including cabinet installation, flooring installation, drywall, rough and trim framing, plumbing, electrical, etc.
• Respond to service calls and general property maintenance tasks across rental units, offices, and common areas.
• Update work order status and provide detailed notes for follow-up.
