Job summary

Centre for Neuro Skills is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (PRN) for on-call and part-time weekday coverage, with some weekend shifts. The LVN will render professional nursing care at clinics and community sites, under supervision of Nursing Department staff, using full nursing skills to ensure patient safety and independence.

The role requires current state nursing licensure, CPR certification, and a driver’s license; experience in skilled nursing and rehabilitation is preferred.

Qualifications

• Passion for care and ability to communicate effectively with patients.
• Leadership skills to recruit, train, and evaluate qualified staff.
• Maintain CPR certification and valid driver’s license are preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing techniques for the comfort and well-being of the patient.
• Visits residential site to assess patient’s medical status, administer or supervise medication and perform treatment procedures.
• Assists with weekly and/or bi-monthly medical staffings.
• Works on-call shifts as required; demonstrates flexibility with patient census and scheduling.
• Keeps Nursing Department informed of all patient concerns and treatment course.
• Performs reporting procedures.
• Provides for patient safety during interactions with behavioral outbursts.
• Performs toilet and chair transfers with assistance up to 150 pounds, with team aid as needed.
