Job summary

Stars Behavioral Health Group is seeking an LVN/LPT for on-call, in Torrance, CA. The role focuses on direct patient care, medication administration and wound care within a 24/7 inpatient setting for adolescents with severe mental health needs.

Qualifications include active CA LVN or LPT license and 1 year of clinical experience with emotionally disturbed youth, plus on-site supervision for applicable certifications.

Qualifications

• Active, valid California LVN or LPT license.
• Graduation from an accredited school of LVN or LPT preferred.
• One year clinical experience with SED children or 40 hours regulatory training.
• One year of medication administration experience preferred; associate's degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct client care including administration of medications and wound care.
• Conduct nursing assessments for new clients and when required.
• Maintain safe, therapeutic milieu and ensure facility safety.
• Collaborate with physicians and social workers to obtain informed consent for medications.
• Take physician orders and ensure proper implementation.
• Monitor changes in patients and report to on-call RN/MD.
• Order and ensure ongoing supply of medications for each child.
