Job summary

Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician I to provide direct patient care in a behavioral health setting. The role includes medication administration, patient education, and coordinated care under supervision.

Applicants must be CA-licensed LVN/LPT with experience in acute care and settings involving substance use disorders. This is a full-time on-site position with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LVN or LPT program and licensed to practice in California.
• Two years recent acute care experience preferred.
• Behavioral/Chemical Dependency setting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plans and delivers nursing assessments and interventions, related medication, and psychiatric diagnoses of the patient.
• Administers medications per the treating provider orders, assesses effectiveness, and monitors side effects.
• Maintains controlled substance records accurately and per protocols.
• Provide education to patients related to their medications and illnesses.
• Add treatment plans for active problems with supervision by LVN II or RN.
• Able to evaluate patient needs and assist in the implementation of treatments.
• Understands documentation protocols and maintains patient medical records.
• Performs complete nursing body assessments and reports issues to the Charge nurse.
• Complete admissions and discharges per protocols including interviews and assessments.
• Responds to medical emergency situations.
• Uses equipment for patient care (glucometer, AED, etc.).
• Attends required trainings and recognizes signs of SUD withdrawal.
