Job summary
Geeks on Site is hiring experienced On-Call IT Field Technicians to support residential and small business customers nationwide. Focus areas include Windows/macOS troubleshooting, network problems, printer setup, and on-site IT service.
You’ll install and configure devices, run cables, and sometimes mount outdoor TVs or install POS systems. As an independent contractor (1099), you set your availability and routes; receive jobs matching proximity and skills, with on-site pay of $35 per hour.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years of IT support or field service experience.
- Strong networking and diagnostic abilities.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to work independently with professional customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and carry equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues.
- Resolve WiFi, router, and wired network problems.
- Install and configure printers and scanners.
- Replace or upgrade hardware components.
- Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools.
- Document work and communicate clearly with customers.
- Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e/Cat6 cabling.
- Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup.
