Job summary

Geeks On Site is seeking an On-Call IT Field Technician to support residential and small business clients across multiple U.S. cities. The role emphasizes Windows/macOS troubleshooting, networking support, printer configuration, and occasional POS or outdoor TV mounting tasks.

Independent contractor status (1099) with flexible hours and no guaranteed weekly workload. You’ll accept only jobs that fit your availability, driving radius, and skill set, while earning $35 per hour on-site.

Qualifications

• Two or more years in IT support or field service.
• Strong networking and diagnostic skills.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work independently with professional customer service.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Own required tools (laptop, drill, screwdrivers, cable tester, RJ45 tools).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues.
• Resolve WiFi, router, and wired network problems.
• Install and configure printers and scanners.
• Replace or upgrade hardware components.
• Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools.
• Document work and communicate clearly with customers.
• Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e/Cat6 cabling.
• Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup.
