Job summary
Geeks On Site is hiring experienced On-Call IT Field Technicians to support residential and small business customers nationwide. Primary tasks include Windows/macOS troubleshooting, networking, printer setup, and general on-site IT service, with occasional POS mounting based on experience.
As a 1099 independent contractor, you set your availability and driving radius. You’ll receive jobs matching your route and skills, at $35 per hour on-site, with flexible scheduling and dispatch support to
Qualifications
- Two or more years of IT support or field service experience.
- Strong networking and diagnostic skills.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Own required tools including a laptop, drill, screwdrivers, cable tester, and RJ45 tools.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues
- Resolve WiFi, router, and wired network problems
- Install and configure printers and scanners
- Replace or upgrade hardware components
- Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools
- Document work and communicate clearly with customers
- Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling
- Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup
