Job summary
Geeks On Site is hiring experienced On-Call IT Field Technicians to service residential and small business customers across multiple U.S. cities.
The role focuses on PC and Mac troubleshooting, networking, printer setup, and basic on-site IT support, with possibilities for POS mounting and outdoor TV mounting based on experience. This 1099 independent contractor position offers flexible scheduling, no guaranteed hours, and a nationwide support network with dispatch and tech assistance to help
Qualifications
- Two+ years IT support or field service experience.
- Strong networking and diagnostic skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work independently and provide professional customer service.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Own required tools: laptop, drill, screwdrivers, cable tester, RJ45 tools.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair Windows and macOS issues
- Resolve WiFi, router, and network problems
- Install and configure printers and scanners
- Replace or upgrade hardware components
- Reinstall operating systems using bootable tools
- Document work and communicate clearly with customers
- Install and support POS systems and run Cat5e or Cat6 cabling
- Perform outdoor TV mounting and basic AV setup
