Job summary

City and County of Denver’s Denver Arts & Venues is seeking a Manager on Duty/House Manager for the Denver Arts Complex. This on-call, part-time role supports live theatre operations, guides ushers, and ensures events run smoothly from lights up to curtains down.

The position requires leadership experience with patrons at entertainment events, night/weekend availability, and proficiency with Word, Excel and email.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience leading the work of employees assisting patrons at entertainment events and leading teams.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and email.
• Must wear business casual attire.
• Available to work a minimum 80% of each month’s events.
• Ability to maintain composure under stress and during emergencies.
• Proven track record of leading teams and delivering excellent customer service.
• Regular access to email and text messages for scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement SOPs and train staff, maintaining knowledge of event and facilities SOPs.
• Act as incident commander for emergencies until first responders arrive.
• Train supervisors and ushers on emergency procedures and crowd management.
• Develop relationships with staff, resident partners, management teams and safety agencies.
• Assist with theatre event management as onsite liaison between venue, clients and vendors.
• Support daily event operations and ongoing projects.
• Lead the Front of House team to ensure audiences feel at home and events run smoothly.
• Enforce safety and security policies and ensure event readiness.
