Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Flexi (On-Call) Associate Chaplain to support Sentara Hospitals in Norfolk and Virginia Beach, VA. You will deliver spiritual care across the facility, work with an interdisciplinary team, and address ethical and bereavement needs while maintaining patient dignity and cultural sensitivity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Religion & Theology and 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education. On-call shifts begin at 5 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Religion & Theology required.
• 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) in a hospital, nursing home, or clinical setting required.
• Hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide spiritual care throughout the hospital for patients, families, and staff.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to deliver holistic care.
• Respond to crises on call and provide crisis intervention and referrals as needed.
