Job summary

TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, OH seeks a Registered Nurse – Forensic Nurse Examiner (SANE/FNE) to provide professional, compassionate care and timely collection of forensic evidence for victims referred to CARES.

This on-call, PRN position requires rapid response within 10 minutes of a call, collaboration with law enforcement and advocacy agencies, and documentation that ensures chain of custody and case readiness for potential court appearances.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing
• New Hires must complete BSN within 5 years of hire
• BLS for Healthcare Providers
• Registered Nurse
• Knowledge of biological/physical/behavioral/social/nursing sciences
• Preferred membership in related professional organization
• 6 months clinical nursing experience

Responsibilities

• Responds to the hospital in a timely manner according to TriHealth guidelines
• Determines need for advocacy agencies and law enforcement; collaborates to provide quality service
• Collaborates with ED staff and physicians regarding care involving evidence collection
• Assesses patient needs considering cognitive, physical, cultural, emotional/psychosocial, and spiritual factors
• Performs technical skills per policy; safely administers medications/treatments
• Documents data on CARES records; maintains chain of custody and coordinates with CARES Coordinator
• Assumes educational responsibilities and promotes continuous improvement through self-review and peer learning
