Job summary

Trinity Youth Services is seeking an on-call Food Service Worker (Assistant Cook) to support its residential team in California. The role requires adhering to posted menus, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring accurate meal counts for residents and staff.

Responsibilities include dishwashing, inventory coordination, and potential driving duties. Salary is $16.90 per hour with benefits such as health and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Must meet State of California Health Standards for Food Handlers.
• Maintain a current county food handler’s certificate and complete an HACCP course.
• Three years or more of extensive food service experience/training.
• Must communicate clearly in English; bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
• Must possess a valid California driver’s license and clean DMV history.

Responsibilities

• Assist in following posted menus, using correct food, quantity and recipes to prepare meals while maintaining safety and health standards.
• Wash all dishes, trays, utensils, glasses, pots, and pans as part of kitchen duties.
• Document all meal counts and reconcile with the edit check; coordinate with Team Administrator to ensure residents and staff receive meals.
• Consult with Kitchen Supervisor about end-of-month inventory preparations.
• Drive a vehicle when necessary.
