A leading company in food testing is seeking a dedicated individual to assist in laboratory operations. The role involves sample testing, maintaining quality standards, and contributing to a safe laboratory environment. Ideal candidates will possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills, along with a high school diploma. Excellent full-time benefits are offered, including medical coverage and a 401(k) plan.
1. Understand and follow Quality System documents relevant to responsibilities, e.g., Quality Manual, SOPs, Methods, and Local Policies.
2. Adhere to appropriate quality measures, which meet or exceed the standards set by ISO/IEC 17025, government regulatory, and company requirements.
3. Follow all company guidelines and procedures relevant to assigned duties.
4. Adhere to all pertinent health, safety, and environmental regulations.
5. Assist in the daily assaying of samples. Perform testing from a daily work list.
6. Set up batches of samples to weigh and weigh samples.
7. Identify from samples assayed the need for rechecks.
8. Prepare solutions used in the daily testing of designated samples.
9. Maintain a neat and accurate record system; keep accurate records of work performed on a daily basis or as needed for quality control tests or regulatory purposes.
10. Record test data and results for samples in logbooks or electronic systems, and enter data into eLIMS accurately and promptly.
11. Maintain a safe and clean laboratory environment; clean work areas and glassware, dispose of hazardous wastes according to procedures, and assist others in maintaining safety and cleanliness.
12. Identify method/matrix/analytical difficulties and report these with proposed solutions to the supervisor.
13. Ensure proprietary methodologies are not disclosed to non-employees unless approved in writing by the Laboratory Manager or designated personnel.
14. Maintain a state of readiness to respond to client, staff, and co-worker queries and needs.
15. Stay current on technical, industry, and business trends as advised by the Department Leader or supervisor.
16. Recommend improvements in laboratory equipment or procedures for better accuracy or efficiency.
17. Foster cooperative relationships with all employees; communicate effectively within and across departments.
18. Promote the company's image through ethical business practices with the public and customers.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Initial Education Background
- Basic understanding of ISO 17025 guidelines.
- High School diploma with 0-3 years of experience.
