Job summary

Plus One, part of the Optum Workplace Well-being portfolio, seeks an energetic On-Call Exercise Specialist to support the fitness center in Morristown, NJ. You will conduct fitness consultations, develop progressive programs, and guide participants in safe use of cardio, strength and flexibility equipment.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or an NCCA-certified personal trainer, current CPR/AED and First Aid, knowledge of assessments and program design, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology or related field, or NCCA-accredited PT certification.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Experience with exercise testing (assessments) and exercise prescription (program design).

Responsibilities

• Conduct ongoing fitness consultations including movement screens, needs analyses and goal setting.
• Develop comprehensive progressive fitness programming to motivate participants.
• Instruct participants on safe and effective use of cardio, flexibility and strength equipment.
• Educate participants on health and fitness information and available wellness services.
• Complete internal development courses via learning platform.
• Maintain positive customer experience with high quality service.
