Job summary

Plus One, part of the Optum Workplace Well-being portfolio, seeks an energetic Exercise Specialist for a fitness center in Minneapolis, MN. You will conduct consultations, design progressive programs, and educate members on fitness and wellness options.

The role emphasizes patient-centric service, strong client engagement, and collaboration with a broad team to deliver an exceptional experience. Certifications and CPR/First Aid maintain readiness for diverse programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field or NCCA-accredited PT cert.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• Knowledge of exercise testing and prescription; able to design programs.
• Ability to network and engage with clients and members.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Conduct fitness consultations, movement screens, needs analyses, and goal setting.
• Develop progressive fitness programming to motivate participants.
• Instruct participants on safe use of cardio, strength, and flexibility equipment.
• Educate participants on health, fitness information and wellness services.
• Complete internal development courses via the LMS and maintain high service quality.
