Harvard Protection Services, LLC is seeking a Fire & Life Safety Director to lead site security teams and deliver professional, customer-focused life safety services.

The role requires a Fire Safety Directors license, a minimum high school diploma or GED, and a valid security officer license, with strong communication and leadership skills. The position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits, with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have Fire Safety Directors license.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn fire inspection operations and procedures.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, fire department, military, customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff and aid customers, employees, visitors, and guests while maintaining professionalism.
• Maintain visible presence in the facility.
• Monitor environment and detect suspicious activity.
• Know customers, tenants, visitors, and guests.
• Answer phones professionally and make clear announcements.
• Permit entry to authorized persons and monitor entrances/exits.
• Enforce facility policies within role limits.
• Follow emergency action plans, fire protection, and safety standards.
• Monitor alarms and systems as required.
• May schedule, supervise overtime, review logs and incident reports and train staff.
• Inspect fire extinguishers and fire safety devices for compliance.
• Prepare reports on inspections, violations, and fire hazards.
• Maintain records and logs as required by law.
• May perform firefighting duties during emergencies and train others.
• May perform other inspections and safety duties as required.
• May perform additional security services functions per site requirements.
• Duties may vary by customer location.
