Job summary

Santa Clara University is seeking an On-Call Field Supervisor in Palo Alto. The role reports to the Field Experience Coordinator and includes overseeing field experiences, guiding teacher candidates, and coordinating with cooperating teachers throughout the academic year.

The supervisor will observe and evaluate candidate practices, provide feedback, and ensure alignment with SCU’s standards, calendars, and evaluation documents.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the California adopted P-12 content standards, frameworks, and accountability systems.
• Experience observing and evaluating teaching performance.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships in a diverse multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a meeting with cooperating teachers and teacher candidates at the start of the academic year to review expectations and procedures.
• Provide an overview of the program and SCU’s expectations and respond to questions regarding the teacher candidate handbook.
• Observe, document and evaluate teacher candidates’ professional practices at least monthly and provide detailed feedback.
• Complete quarterly observations using SCU forms and prepare summative assessments.
• Demonstrate how to use SCU observation and evaluation forms and discuss timelines for completing quarterly forms.
