Job summary

The Archaeological Technician position at Pape-Dawson Engineers supports field and laboratory tasks for archaeological investigations and regulatory compliance. Under supervision, you assist in survey, excavation, documentation, and artifact processing while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.

You will conduct field surveys, record GPS data, label and curate artifacts, maintain equipment, and help prepare reports and deliverables for cultural resource management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or related field.
• Completion of a university-based archaeological field school.
• 3–6 months of field and/or lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field surveys including shovel testing and site documentation.
• Record GPS data for field observations and site locations.
• Clean, label, catalog, and curate artifacts.
• Assist with maintenance, inventory, and organization of field and lab equipment.
• Support preparation of documentation, reports, and deliverables for compliance.
• Collaborate with team to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency.
