Job summary

The Illinois Tollway is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Technician to support building systems at Hillside facilities. You will perform preventive maintenance on boilers, HVAC, and electrical equipment, read blueprints, and use hand/power tools to install, test, and repair components.

Hours are 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with 24-hour on-call responsibilities and potential for emergency response.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Class A CDL permit with air brakes endorsement required at time of test; obtain within probationary period.
• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and layouts.
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must pass written examination to qualify for interview.
• Hours: 7:00AM–3:00PM, Monday–Friday, on 24-hour call.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and emergency maintenance on building systems (boilers, HVAC, electrical equipment).
• Install, test, repair, and maintain motors, plumbing, wiring, and related components.
• Maintain records and prepare reports; track replacement parts.
