Job summary

The Ned and Ned’s Club Washington DC is seeking an On Call Event Server to deliver exceptional hospitality at our Ned’s Club venue. You’ll tailor service to each event, answer guest queries with menu and space knowledge, and manage setup and teardown for weddings, business meetings, and celebrations.

Qualifications

• Provide outstanding hospitality to guests, tailoring service to deliver exceptional experiences.
• Answer guest queries with unrivalled knowledge of menus and space.
• Assist during events from start to finish, setting up and tearing down spaces.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness for guests, teammates and helpers.
• Fluently adapt to shifts that vary, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

• Our events spaces often need flipping quickly between events, so you may need to assist the team with preparing linen, glassware, silver etc for upcoming events
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, protecting our guests, your teammates, and our agency helpers from any possible harm
• Our events space can be busy Monday to Sunday and has late finishing times, so a degree of flexibility is preferred as shifts will vary

Each event we host is different, so you’ll be delivering the perfectly tailored service for your guests - whether that’s a wedding, a business meeting, a corporate celebration, or anything in between.

The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

After launching The Ned London in 2017, we are proud to have opened Ned’s Club in the US capital in 2025, our fourth and newest location.

The Property…

Ned’s Club Washington DC is a members’ club set over three floors of a neoclassical style building situated within President’s Park at 734 15th Street NW. The Riggs Building sits opposite the US Treasury and was constructed in 1930. The 12‑story building is located around the corner from the White House and sits above the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream, formerly the historic Riggs Bank Corcoran branch.

The Club has a Rooftop Terrace and Loft Restaurant with views overlooking the White House, US Treasury and Washington Monument, plus a Founder’s Dining Room, The Library, Drawing Room, Gallery and Conservatory. On level nine, there is a self‑contained floor of private event spaces. The Ned and Ned’s Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like‑minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time.

Reporting into the Events Operations leadership team and as the friendly face of the Event experience you will:

• Provide outstanding hospitality to our guests, tailoring your service to deliver the exceptional experiences that The Ned is known for
• Using your unrivalled knowledge of our menus and space, you’ll answer all guests queries and assist during their event
• Set up and tear down each event from start to finish, taking care of our one of a kind space
• Deliver the level of service and standards that our event guests anticipate and expect
• Our events spaces often need flipping quickly between events, so you may need to assist the team with preparing linen, glassware, silver etc for upcoming events
• Maintain a safe and clean environment, protecting our guests, your teammates, and our agency helpers from any possible harm

What you can bring to the role:

• You’ll have a fantastic personality, engaging with our events guests to give them an exceptional service
• A big part of this job is supporting our agency support teams, so a welcoming personality and ability to guide others is essential
• Great all-round food and drinks knowledge is an advantage, but we can teach you everything you need to know about our menus
• We love people to continuously improve, so if you have the desire to learn and progress then you can take part in loads of learning here at The Ned as part of our monthly learning calendar
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to lift, pull, push a minimum of 35 pounds
• Can work a flexible schedule to include evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
