Job summary

OHSU seeks a GI Technician to assist the RN and physician during endoscopy procedures. The role includes room setup before and after procedures, transporting equipment, and maintaining sterile technique.

The GI Tech will support endoscopy in ICU, OR, and other settings, and will manage pre-cleaning and equipment troubleshooting. A 24-hour call is required weekly with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Surgical Technology program from a community college.
• One year of experience in GI procedure unit or surgical procedure room.
• One year of experience in Gastroenterology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms with required instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist during procedures by handling instruments and responding to needs.
• Assist in obtaining specimens and proper transport to the lab.
• Perform pre-cleaning and decontamination of endoscopes and equipment.
• Clean, disinfect, and turn over rooms to prepare for next case.
• Maintain supplies and coordinate equipment sharing and restocking.
• Support patient care before, during, and after procedures.
