Job summary

WSP is seeking On-Call Emergency Managers with procurement responsibilities to support nationwide disaster response through deployments to US locations and WSP offices. Cadre positions are on-call and assignments are on an as-needed basis, with 30-day commitments and deployments that can occur with little to no advance notice.

Deployments may involve 8–12 hour days, 7 days a week, and cadre members are not eligible for standard benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in emergency management or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of emergency management experience; city/county/state level preferred.
  • Experience with procurement/administrative tasks in Emergency Management; knowledge of ERP, Oracle or SAP.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Willingness to deploy to disaster areas on short notice (24–48 hours); long deployments possible.

Responsibilities

  • Support Emergency Management team in serving clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide and in US territories.
  • Deploy to Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations before, during, and after disasters.
  • Perform duties in logistics, supply, cost/documentation, and resource unit functions.
  • Attend periodic training to maintain deployment eligibility.
  • Support Emergency Management Project Management functions.
  • Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search forOn Call Emergency Managers, Procurement with the potential to work out of any WSP USA office.

Emergency management cadre positions are on-call and assignments are on an as-needed basis. Cadre members are not eligible for benefits.

Cadre members are typically asked for a 30 day commitment; and must have availability to deploy with little to no advance notice (typically within 24-48 hours); During deployments, there is the potential of working 8-12 hours/day; 7 days/week.

Your Impact
  • Support Emergency Management team in servicing clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide and in US territories.
  • Deploy to Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post-disaster.
  • Perform a variety of duties including logistics, supply, cost/documentation and/or resource unit functions.
  • Attend periodic training throughout the year to maintain deployment eligibility.
  • Support Emergency Management Project Management functions.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in emergency management or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of emergency management experience. City, County, District or State-level emergency management experience preferred
  • Prior project procurement/administrative experience in Emergency Management, and broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques. Strong knowledge of ERP Systems/Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle, SAP.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook (Email), Word, and Excel.
  • FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study - Professional Development Series certification.
  • Travel Required - Must be able to deploy to disaster area, with little or no advance notice and potentially for long durations up to a minimum of 30 days.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Thorough understanding of Postal, Various State Subcontracting, FAR, DFAR, FTA and DOT regulations.
  • Prevailing Wage expertise such as Service Contract Act and Davis Bacon Wages.
  • Works well under pressure and able to handle change in priorities.
  • Asset Management and Supply Logistical Operational Experience.
  • Previous experience working at Field Staging Areas or state Emergency Operations Center or related environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting tools.

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $40-45/hour
