Job summary
Guilford College in Greensboro, NC seeks a certified electrical/electronics technician to install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical systems, equipment, and service connections across campus. The role also involves reading blueprints, following NEC safety practices, and contributing to energy-saving initiatives.
You will operate test instruments, perform routine maintenance, and participate in on-call duties, with the expectation of overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- Two years of experience in a trade school or equivalent
- Must be a certified electrician in North Carolina
- Knowledge of switchgear, transfer switches, phasing and wiring schematics
- Experience with electrical troubleshooting tools and NEC safety practices
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot electrical devices, wiring, and equipment
- Read blueprints and assist in layout planning for energy-efficient systems
- Operate voltmeters, Ohmmeters, circuit finders and milli volts to locate problems
- Work in on-call status and potentially overtime
- Lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environments including ladders and crawl spaces
