Job summary

Sertoma Star Services is seeking a Direct Support Professional for on-call coverage in Indiana. You will support individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities through 1:1 and group activities in a person-centered environment.

Join a mission-driven team providing compassionate care, inclusive community participation, and essential daily living supports. The role requires flexibility to cover short-notice shifts and a commitment to safety and dignity in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks.
• Valid driver's license and eligible to transport clients.
• High school diploma preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to fill in for shifts.
• Communicate with consumers to determine likes and needs.
• Treat consumers with dignity and respect.
• Provide support to help consumers achieve independence.
• Assist with hygiene, grooming, and dressing as needed.
• Support medication administration per agency policies.
• Advocate for consumer wants and needs.
• Help consumers participate in their community.
• Document all supports including progress notes and MARs.
