Job summary

Bates College is seeking an On-Call Digital Print Assistant to support high-volume periods, staff absences, and campus events in the central print operation. The role covers intake, file prep, production, finishing, and billing for on-demand printing, plus Post Center support as needed.

The position expects a high school diploma or GED and prefers an Associate degree or related training in Graphic Arts or Print Production. On-call shifts and strong time management are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; valid driver’s license.
• Associate degree or related training in Graphic Arts, Digital Publishing, or Print Production preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced print production or willingness to learn on the job.
• Graphic design experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to staff, faculty and students.
• Assist in handling package pickup and drop-off within the Printing Center.
• Operate production machines to support on-demand printing, copying, and special events projects.
• Provide support to the printing team with finishes to products requested by customers.
• Assist in the Post Center with shipping, receiving, and overall customer service when needed.
