Job summary

Indianapolis Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking an as-needed Dietary Aide or Cook to assist with food preparation and service for patients, staff, and events. Follow food safety standards, ensure meals are served at proper temperatures and presented attractively.

Maintain a clean, safe kitchen and assist with trash, dishware, restocking, and transport of meals to patient floors. Experience as prep cook or cook is preferred but not required; ServSafe or other food safety certification is

Qualifications

• Experience as Prep Cook or Cook preferred, but not required.
• Ability to interpret recipes and instructions in detail.
• Food safety certifications as required (ServSafe).
• Experience in healthcare foodservice is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and service of food for patients and staff.
• Maintain proper food handling and safety techniques.
• Deliver food to patient floors and restock items.
• Keep dishmachines and kitchens clean; document temperature readings.
• Support with trash removal and floor cleaning.
