Job summary

Multnomah County Health Department seeks a Dentist (On-Call) to provide a full range of dental services in a county clinic. The role includes diagnosis, treatment planning, radiograph interpretation, anesthesia administration, and emergency care within an integrated health program serving underserved populations.

Qualified candidates hold a DDS/DMD from an accredited school, Oregon license, DEA with Oregon address, CPR, and nitrous oxide permit.

Qualifications

Dental degree (DDS or DMD) from an accredited institution
Valid Oregon Dental License
Federal DEA License with Oregon Address
Current CPR card
Oregon Nitrous permit
Registration required to deliver or dispense controlled substances as outlined by ORS 475.125.
Depending upon assignment, candidates may be required to pass a criminal background check, have a valid driver license, and/or additional training, licenses, or certificates.

Responsibilities

Perform professional dental and oral surgical services for patients at a County dental clinic; diagnose and treat abnormalities, injuries and dysfunctional disorders of the oral cavity and its structures.
Review medical histories and radiographs to determine the type and extent of dental disease and plan treatment.
Provide anesthesia and manage emergency dental care as needed; triage and treat patients in acute pain.
Maintain complete chart documentation and ensure compliance with infection control standards and safety policies.
