Job summary

State of Connecticut's Division of Criminal Justice is seeking a full-time Inspector for the Office of the Inspector General in Shelton, CT. The role requires on-call crime scene response, nights and weekends, and completion of a background check, pre-employment physical with drug screening, and firearms certification.

The Inspector will assist the State's Attorney in case investigation and preparation, coordinate with multiple agencies, and ensure proper documentation, subpoenas, extraditions,

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years of experience as a law enforcement officer.
• Three (3) years of General Experience must have included criminal investigation.
• Strong writing experience and ability to draft warrants and affidavits is preferred.
• Experience with forensic methods and collaborating with other agencies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews documentation for accuracy and viability of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
• Directs and supervises post-arrest investigative measures.
• Interviews victims and witnesses and assesses credibility of testimony.
• Prepares reports, statements and affidavits.
• Directs extradition requests and ensures court appearances of witnesses.
• Serves as liaison with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.
• Performs related duties as required.
