Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support a K-5 classroom at the Osceola Campus in Kissimmee, FL. The role involves implementing lessons, preparing instructional materials, and assisting in assessments with 12–22 students.

You will collaborate with teachers, document student progress, and participate in professional development while upholding UCP and regulatory guidelines. On-site position with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• G.E.D. or High School Diploma required.
• DCF 45 hour within 90 days of hire if after care/summer or camp.
• CRP/First Aid Training required.
• Prefer at least 1 year experience working with children in an elementary classroom setting.
• Prefer experience working with students with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Implements lesson plans and leads instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
• Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
• Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.
• Documents academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
• Utilizes behavior techniques and classroom management data collection.
• Performs paraprofessional duties in the teacher’s absence.
• Keeps up on best practices through professional development and book studies.
• Provides caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed.
• Maintains positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
• Attends required trainings, meetings and events.
• Ensures compliance with procedures and guidelines set by UCP and state/federal agencies.

Job Summary:

The Teacher Assistant assists the Teacher/Para in supporting a classroom of 12-22 elementary (K-5th grade) students.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
• Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
• Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.
• Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
• Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
• Perform Paraprofessional duties in his/her absence.
• Keep up on best and promising practices for education (i.e., attending professional development, participating in book studies, etc.)
• Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed (i.e., changing of students, keeping classroom clean)
• Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
• Attend required trainings, meetings and events.
• Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
