Job summary

Rescue Mission in California seeks an on-call driver for its Class B bus and vans. You will transport students and children safely to and from requested destinations while ensuring passenger and vehicle safety at all times.

Qualifications

• GED / High School Certification Equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of job-related work experience.
• Class B License required.
• Experience driving a company vehicle is required.

Responsibilities

• Transport students and children safely to designated destinations on-call.
• Assist all passengers in and out of the vehicle, including disabled persons and children.
• Secure wheelchairs and strollers to restraints to stabilize devices during transport.
• Operate radio or other device to communicate with staff and other drivers about service disruptions.
• Perform fuel, lubrication, and safety checks on the vehicle.
• Report safety, maintenance, or hazard issues to supervisor immediately.
• Instruct passengers on seating and restraints and correct unsafe actions.
• Act as liaison between volunteers, DRR students, and the Success Center Manager.
• Able to operate a Class B vehicle with safety, certification, and proficiency.
